From surviving to thriving

Are you struggling to process a painful life experience? Did something happen that you can’t stop thinking about? Do you feel stuck and unable to move on?

Life can be cruel. We see it time and time again. Bad things happen to good people. And we suffer. We get depressed, anxious, angry, paranoid, defensive and frightened. We avoid the things that bring us pain and as time goes on that list gets longer and longer and our life gets smaller and smaller. We get trapped in our heads, struggling to forget the past, fearing the future, and missing out on all the joy and happiness in the present moment. Life feels like a problem that needs to be solved. We try everything that we can think of to make life a bit more bearable. Sometimes we catch a short break: a day, an hour, a minute of relief from our suffering. But it doesn’t last long and soon we’re back in the misery. Desperate. Confused. Stuck.

It doesn’t have to be that way. At Clarity we are experts in showing you how to make simple and gentle changes that will have a profound impact on your quality of life. Each of our highly skilled therapists have completed six years of graduate training to learn the secrets to health and happiness. We understand what causes your suffering and we can show you how to set yourself free.

Everyone is capable of experiencing peace, love and happiness. Everyone is capable of living a rich, full and meaningful life. You were born happy. It is your default setting. You just need to know how to access it. And we can show you.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is psychotherapy?

In the simplest of terms, psychotherapy involves a lot of talking, connecting, exploring, sharing, thinking, feeling, and even laughing. It takes place in a safe, secure room with two comfy chairs; one for the client and one for the therapist. The client can use the time to talk about any issue that is causing them distress and the specially trained therapist will help the client to explore their problem from new perspectives and find solutions. Counselling is safe, liberating and powerful… it can even be fun!

Who is psychotherapy for?

Psychotherapy is for everyone. Our clients are men and women of all ages, cultures and backgrounds. They come to therapy because they are struggling to process a painful life experience and want some professional support. Often our clients have good lives and positive relationships with their family and friends, but they don’t want to burden those people with their problems. Our therapists are trained to listen, understand, support and encourage you for as long as it takes for you to start feeling better. We will never judge you, get frustrated or lose interest. You will always be our top priority. We’re here to help.

Can psychotherapy help me?

Psychotherapy can help you to gain control over your life and your happiness. It can teach you how to use your brain in new ways that make it possible for you to let go of distressing thoughts, increase positive feelings, and overcome destructive patterns of behaviour. You can use these new skills to improve your relationships, grow in confidence, and start living the life of your dreams. Despite what you may have been told in the past, there are very few mental health conditions that are permanent. Even conditions such as Bi-Polar Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder and Drug Addiction can be entirely eliminated with the right kind of support. You are not broken. You’re just stuck. And with help you can change everything.

How long does it take?

Each session lasts 50 minutes. Most clients choose to have therapy once a week, especially in the beginning when they need the most support. The total length of a course of therapy depends on each individual client’s needs and personal circumstances. Minor problems can be solved in as few as 1 – 6 sessions. Moderate problems take up to 12 sessions. Severe problems take 20 or more sessions. Many clients choose to continue having therapy for as long as they find it beneficial.

Can I trust you?

Yes, you definitely can. Our psychotherapists are trained to the highest possible level. We are registered members of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy and are bound by the rules of its Ethical Framework and Professional Conduct Procedure. Clarity only recruit the most talented, trustworthy and compassionate therapists. We hold our employees to extremely high standards and have gained a reputation for being very good at what we do.
